THE COFFEE CAN

Black ‘n’ strong’ll

burn the tongue but

many lick their lip for a

steamy cup to

wake them up and

help them get a grip, or

nowadays it

seems the craze, for

quaint espresso shops have

taken hold-

the stuff is sold like

gold at corner stops-

add some cream and

it might seem that

heaven’s come to earth-

mix in flavors

and the savors

multiply their worth

stimulate and

medicate so

I feel superpowers,

sweeten true the

bitter brew and

launch me through the hours

Coffee’s sure the

fast-draw blur that

built the wild west - that

old tin can, now

serves up the very best!
